WHO WE SERVE

ADULTS

Brain Bridge Therapy specializes in providing therapy for adults who experience a variety of challenges, including:

  • Aphasia (what is Aphasia?)

  • Receptive and expressive language deficits

  • Motor speech disorders (Dysarthria & Apraxia)

  • Cognitive impairment

  • Executive function difficulties

  • Other communication deficits

  • Voice changes

  • Swallowing impairments

These challenges may be a result of:

  • Stroke

  • Concussion

  • Brain injury (right or left hemisphere)

  • Degenerative diseases (eg, Dementia, Parkinson’s, ALS, MS, etc)

  • Other neurological deficits

Whether these challenges are recent or have been present for years, our approach is functional and holistic. We use evidence-based practices, working closely with each client and their family to create an individualized therapeutic plan. Brain Bridge Therapy’s goal is to enhance communication and improve quality of life through a total communication approach that may include both verbal and non-verbal strategies.

TEENS & YOUNG ADULTS

Brain Bridge Therapy provides therapy for teens and young adults with:

  • Receptive and/or expressive language disorders

  • Social communication difficulties

  • Cognitive communication deficits

  • Executive function challenges

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs

These difficulties may stem from:

  • Developmental disorders

  • Intellectual disabilities

  • Acquired brain injuries

We work with individuals to help them develop essential skills for independent living, including:

  • Job skills training

  • Social communication skills

  • Daily life skills

Through targeted therapy strategies, we focus on building confidence and preparing clients for the demands of adulthood and independent living.

CHILDREN

Brain Bridge Therapy works with children who experience:

  • Speech articulation errors

  • Receptive and/or expressive language delays or disorders

  • Dyslexia

  • Social communication difficulties

  • Cognitive communication impairment

  • Executive function challenges

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs

These may be a result of:

  • Developmental delays or disorders

  • Acquired brain injuries

Our therapy sessions are designed to be engaging and fun while targeting each child’s unique communication needs. We collaborate with families and educational teams to provide a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan to help children reach their full potential in school, home, and social settings.

LOVED ONES

A huge goal of Brain Bridge Therapy (BBT) is to assist our clients’ loved ones in whatever way possible. Whether, you’re a spouse, parent, child, sibling, or other loved one of a person with a disability, you face unique challenges.

We offer a private “BBT Loved Ones” Facebook group, where clients and their families can build a supportive community, share resources, ask questions, and plan social events. It’s a place to connect with others who understand your journey.

Families are vital team members in the therapeutic process. From assessment, to goal writing, to therapy sessions, loved ones are welcomed and encouraged to be involved.

CONTRACT SERVICES

Brain Bridge Therapy can provide short-term or long-term contract services in a variety of settings, from schools, to adult residential facilities, or medical settings and clinics. Please contact for more information and availability.

SERVICES

Brain Bridge Therapy is working on getting in-network with insurance companies. Inquire for more information.

A Superbill can be provided upon request for clients who wish to seek reimbursement directly from their insurance provider.

  • 30-minute session

  • 60- minute initial intake/assessment

Brain Bridge Therapy understands that “life happens” and sometimes schedule changes will be unavoidable. We ask that clients please be understanding of how schedule changes affect our business, and therefore cancellation and rescheduling fees may apply.

LOCATION OPTIONS

In-Person

In-Home

Therapy services can be provided to clients in their home, whether it’s a private residence or a residential living facility.

Community Location

Services can be provided at a community location within the in-person service area, such as a library, school, daycare facility, or other location appropriate for meeting unique client needs.

Virtual

Telehealth is an option for clients who are outside of the “In-Person Radius” across Iowa and Missouri and are suitable for teletherapy services.
