Meet the Team
Emily Anker, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner and Therapist
Brain Bridge Therapy, PLLC is currently a one-person team, with plans to grow in the future!
Meet me, Emily!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Northern Iowa and my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. I have been working as a speech pathologist for the past 6 years and built a career working with students in elementary and high schools (I also coached high school volleyball and basketball!). In addition to my work in schools, I spent summers at Ability KC, helping adults recover from brain injuries—a patient population I am especially passionate about.
After graduate school, Kansas City quickly became my home, where I bought a house and enjoyed renovating it to make it my own. Additionally, I found joy immersing myself in the vibrant Kansas City sports culture—cheering on the Chiefs became a favorite pastime!
I grew up in Earlham, Iowa, where my love for sports and community took root. I am excited to return to Iowa to be closer to family and I look forward to attending more Iowa State sporting events. In my free time, you can find me walking my dog, Lola, working out, sewing, reading, and enjoying quality time with family and friends. I’m thrilled for this next chapter and the opportunity to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of my clients.
